Luncheon to honor Ed Lynch, Kirchners

Bob and Pauline Kirchner and the late Ed Lynch will be recognized at the Community Foundation for Southwest Washington’s annual luncheon happening noon Tuesday, June 7, at the Hilton Vancouver Washington.

Ed Lynch will posthumously receive the Catalyst Award for Philanthropic Innovation to “for creating remarkable community improvements through his philanthropic leadership and collaboration,” the foundation said in a press release. Lynch died May 10, 2015, at age 94 after spending his retirement giving time and money back to the community. The Kirchners are receiving the 2016 Philanthropists of the Year award for their five decades of charitable contributions, leadership and service in Cowlitz County, the Community Foundation said.

The luncheon’s theme is Our Charge for Change, about how everyone has a desire and responsibility to contribute to their community. Chris Grumm, a philanthropy consultant and thought leader, is the keynote speaker
